To intensify the buzz surrounding the upcoming stylish compact SUV, Nissan TerranoNissan Indiahas launched a social media campaign targeting the youngsters.
Its a Twitter and Facebook based campaign, where you have to answer this simple question – Who is the one person in your life with the most Powerful Presence and why? You can tweet or post on Nissan India’s Facebook page with #PowerfulPresence.
The contest question also is in tune with the Terrano television campaign where the stylish compact SUV is shown making a distracting statement owing to its #PowerfulPresence. One lucky winner stands to win a Nissan Terrano for a week while prizes like a brand new iPhone and Terrano goodie bags are also up for grabs.
Apart from Facebook and Twitter, Nissan has been active on YouTube also. The Terrano TV commercial actually debuted on YouTube and has bagged 3.38 lakh views already. The brand has created a very successful presence on social media and got bookings of more than 6,000 Terranos during the pre-launch phase.

Nissan recalls 9,000 units of Micra and Sunny


As a part of it’s global initiative, Nissan is going to recall 9,000 units of Micra and Sunny which were produced and sold in India in the duration of 2008 to 2012. The recalled cars are a part of the 2,60,000 cars which Nissan has sold worldwide and have been addressed with the issue of faulty airbags. Recently, the driver side airbags, produced by Takata Corp, have been under scrutiny due to the possibilities of ejecting shrapnel towards occupants once they inflate.

Customers of the Micra and Sunny, which fall under the aforementioned duration of production, will be called upon by the company for replacing the faulty airbags without any additional costs. Takata Corp, which is a major supplier of airbags to other manufacturers too, has been legally challenged by the US Safety Regulators, due to the issue of faulty airbags addressed in around 7.8 million vehicles with Takata airbags globally.

Recently, the issue of recalls by manufacturers has seen an uprise, courtesy the SIAM’s directive issued in July 2012. The Government of India is working upon stringent norms and rules regarding the recalls done by various manufacturers, in order to improvise the quality checks in manufacturing processes. In the last two years, over 7 lakh cars by different manufacturers have been recalled, which have been addressed for varying defects. The manufacturers, though, are voluntarily calling their customers and rectifying the defect free of cost, which they are doing to restore the faith shown by the customers in them.

Mercedes Benz 2015 C-Class makes India debut at CeBIT


Ahead of its official launch on 25th November, Mercedes Benz has previewed the all-new 2015 C-Class at CeBIT in Bangalore. Touted to be one of the leading global events of IT and communications, the CeBIT is held for the very first time on the Indian soil. The C-Class will be on showcase at the ongoing CeBIT till 14th November. The car has been put on the display to gauge the initial response of the crowd attending the event.

Currently, the new 2015 C-Class will be offered in only one guise – the petrol-powered C200, and will be brought in as a CBU vehicle. Under the hood, the car packs in a 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which belts out 184PS of power and 300Nm of torque, and is paired with a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox. Measuring 4686mm long, 1810mm wide and 1442mm high, the new C-Class has increased dimensions as compared to the erstwhile model. The car takes a lot of inspiration from the S-Class in both exteriors as well as interiors.

The main reason for Mercedes Benz to preview the new C-Class ahead of it’s official launch is to promote the company’s next generation Infotainment system, which is termed as ‘Audio 20 Version 5.1′. Making its debut on the C-Class, the new system boasts of a completely new interface with a touch pad on offer. Though much like the flagship S-Class, the local assembly of the C-Class will begin with the arrival of the diesel variant, which will be launched at a later stage next year. Expected to be launched in the price bracket of Rs. 40-50 Lakh, the new C-Class will be pegged against theAudi A4, BMW 3-Series, Volvo S60 and Jaguar XE.

Audi announces year-end discounts 2014


2014 Audi A3 Sedan
Audi India has announced big discounts across its model range. The discounts have been announced as part of a year-end offer, most probably to clear the existing stock. The discounts are being offered on the newly launched Audi A3 compact sedan, the Audi Q3 compact-SUV, Audi A4 sedan, Audi Q5 SUV and Audi A6 sedan. All prices mentioned below are ex-showroom Delhi.
Audi A3
Audi is offering dealership discounts of up to Rs. 75,000 on the Audi A3 Premium 35 TDI, it is priced at Rs. 27.05 lakh. A discount of up to Rs. 1.25 lakh is being offered on the Audi A3 Premium Plus variant, it is priced at Rs. 30.05 lakh for the petrol powered variant and Rs. 31.05 lakh for the diesel powered variant. A discount of up to Rs. 1.75 lakh is being offered on the Audi A3 35 TDI Technology, which is priced at Rs. 33.76 lakh.
Audi Q3
The Audi Q3 35 TDI Premium is being offered with a maximum discount of Rs. 1 lakh, the compact-SUV is priced at Rs. 32.54 lakh. Meanwhile, the Audi Q3 35 TDI Premium Plus variant is being offered with a maximum discount of Rs. 1.5 lakh, it is priced at Rs. 36.8 lakh.
Audi A4
The Audi A4 sedan is offered with a discount between Rs. 4.5 – 5 lakh on select variants. The sedan is priced between Rs. 31.30 – 39.74 lakh.

Audi is offering a maximum discount of Rs. 2 lakh on the Q5 30 TDI quattro Premium, which is priced at Rs. 47.16 lakh and a discount of Rs. 3 lakh on th Q5 30 TDI quattro Premium Plus which costs Rs. 49.46 lakh. Meanwhile the company is offering a discount of Rs. 4 lakh on the top-of-the-line Q5 Technology, the 30 TDI quattro is priced at Rs. 53.44 lakh, while the 45 TDI quattro is priced at Rs. 60.11 lakh.
Audi A6
Audi is offering discounts between Rs. 5.5 – 7 lakh on select variants of the Audi A6 sedan. The A6 is priced between Rs. 44.20 – Rs. 51.91 lakh

Audi A4 Premium Sport launched at Rs 38 lakh



Audi has recently included a sportier variant to its A4 sedan range in India. Billed as the Audi A4 Premium Sport, the new mid-range variant features a number of visual tweaks that distinguishes it from the regular models. The A4 Premium Sport is priced at Rs 38.0 lakh in ex-showroom, New Delhi and sits between the top of the line Technology Pack and the lower A4 Premium variant.
Mostly visual, the upgrades on A4 Premium Sport underline the sporty character of the A4 range, says Audi. The A4 Premium Sport features new multi-spoke 17-inch alloy wheels, S-line reinforced bumpers, S-line logo on fenders, a glossy black front grille; blackened- wing mirrors, window sills, rear diffuser and side rocker door mouldings. In line with the exterior updates, the interiors have been given an all-black treatment as opposed to the dual-tone scheme in the standard car. The A4 Premium Sport will only be made available in two color shades- Misano Red and Ibis White.
The Audi A4 in India is available in a choice of one petrol and one diesel engine. The petrol unit is an 1.8 litre TFSI engine that develops 170PS of power and 320Nm of torque. The diesel versions feature a 2.0 litre TDI engine that is rated at 177PS and 380Nm. Both the engines come mated with a 6-speed multitronic gearbox that sends power only to the front wheels.
The Audi A4 competes with the likes of BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class etc., in India. The A4 is range is priced between Rs 35.45 lakh to 39.74 lakh, ex-showroom New Delhi.

Hyundai ix25 compact crossover soon to be launched in India


The newly launched Hyundai ix25 compact crossover is in attendance at the Guangzhou Auto Show 2014. The SUV has a starting price of 119,800 yuan (around INR 11.96 lakhs) in China.

The China-spec model is powered either by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder or a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and an automatic unit.
The 1.6-litre mill is capable of 122.8 bhp and 150.7 Nm of torque, and is available only in the front wheel drive configuration. The bigger powerplant generates a healthy 158 bhp and 192 Nm of torque. Both FWD and 4WD are available.

The generously equipped top-end variant features LED daytime running lights, panoramic sunroof, leather seats, electrically folding wing mirrors, touchscreen multimedia infotainment system, cruise control, automatic climate control, keyless start, reverse parking camera, ESP and so on. Standard safety equipment include dual airbags and ABS with EBD.

The South Korean SUV will lock horns with the recently launched Honda Vezel and the Honda XR-V (a low-cost version of the Vezel exclusive for the Chinese market) which debuts at Guangzhou today.

The ix25 has already started testing in India signaling a launch next year. Competition in the Indian market would come from the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Mahindra Scorpio.
