Ahead of its official launch on 25th November, Mercedes Benz has previewed the all-new 2015 C-Class at CeBIT in Bangalore. Touted to be one of the leading global events of IT and communications, the CeBIT is held for the very first time on the Indian soil. The C-Class will be on showcase at the ongoing CeBIT till 14th November. The car has been put on the display to gauge the initial response of the crowd attending the event.
Currently, the new 2015 C-Class will be offered in only one guise – the petrol-powered C200, and will be brought in as a CBU vehicle. Under the hood, the car packs in a 2.0 liter four-cylinder petrol engine, which belts out 184PS of power and 300Nm of torque, and is paired with a 7G-Tronic automatic gearbox. Measuring 4686mm long, 1810mm wide and 1442mm high, the new C-Class has increased dimensions as compared to the erstwhile model. The car takes a lot of inspiration from the S-Class in both exteriors as well as interiors.
The main reason for Mercedes Benz to preview the new C-Class ahead of it’s official launch is to promote the company’s next generation Infotainment system, which is termed as ‘Audio 20 Version 5.1′. Making its debut on the C-Class, the new system boasts of a completely new interface with a touch pad on offer. Though much like the flagship S-Class, the local assembly of the C-Class will begin with the arrival of the diesel variant, which will be launched at a later stage next year. Expected to be launched in the price bracket of Rs. 40-50 Lakh, the new C-Class will be pegged against theAudi A4, BMW 3-Series, Volvo S60 and Jaguar XE.
